An Esthetician is a trained professional who specializes in skin care and beautification. Estheticians (sometimes spelled aestheticians) are not medical healthcare providers. Instead, they perform cosmetic skin treatments, such as facials, superficial chemical peels, beauty makeup, eyelash extensions, body treatments, waxing and more.
Common niches for Estheticians to specialize includes Facial Specialists, Medical Estheticians, Waxing and Skincare Specialists, Spa Therapists.
Although the term “medical aesthetics” is commonly used, Estheticians are not a medical professionals. Licensed Estheticians are not permitted to perform the following services:

A facial is a beauty treatment that is designed to exfoliate, invigorate or treat the skin of the face.

Waxing is the process of removing unwanted hair from a part of the body by applying wax (soft, hard, sugar) and peeling it off from the hairs in the target area.
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent synthetic, faux mink, or silk fibers which are applied strand by strand to natural lashes
Graduation requirements include completing 750 training hours compromising of a combination of course lecture and traditional beauty treatments.
